💿 Why Are We Crowdfunding?

If you’re new here - Hiiiii, we’re The Great Leslie, a very real band made up of very real humans.

We’re crowdfunding our debut album. And we’re doing it with the help of you, our loyal, loud, weird, beautiful fans because making music is bloody expensive, and we’ve been self-funding everything so far. We are not signed... we are independent of any labels - even the indie ones!

💸 A Quick Reality Check

Here’s what it costs to make one album
(and that’s before anyone hears a single note):

🎙️ Recording – £1000 a day

🎚️ Mixing – £600 per song

🎧 Mastering – £100 per song

🎨 Artwork & Design (Per Single and The Album) – £500–£1000 each

📣 Promotion & PR – £2000
(depending how loud we want to be)

📱Marketing & Ads – £2000

📝 Publishing & Distribution – to get it on Spotify and all the rest - £15 per release

📦 Merch Design & Production – shirts don’t print themselves - £ LOTS

🎥 Music Videos – you like them, they are expensive, don’t blame us!

The reality is – just recording this album alone – is estimated to cost
anywhere from

£20’000-£35‘000

And then there’s everything we do just to exist as musicians:

🥁 Ryan’s drum kit cost over £10,000 and cymbals need replacing every year which cost upwards of £300 EACH!

🧵 Ollie, Oda's and Freddie’s guitars? Not one cost under £2k

🛠️ Our instruments all need yearly servicing

🧼 We clean them. With our own hands.

🕘 We rehearse 3 times a week for 3 hours -
that’s 9 unpaid hours weekly just practising (we hire a studio for this) £500 per month

📷 We plan social content, reply to DMs, carry amps up stairs, and pretend to know how TikTok works

🍞 Oda lives 90% off bread from a blue plastic bag

🕸️ This Website... who do you think pays and makes it? We can tell you - it's not our parents!

🧃 Fred once drank expired Ribena to save money

🧦 We share socks on tour. Enough said.

🎯 The Goal

We want to take the money we’d normally spend just getting the album made, and instead put it into getting it heard - reaching new fans, booking bigger shows, and turning this into our full-time lives.

We’re not trying to get rich - we’re trying to make something real, and give it the best shot it has at blowing up.

We’re still putting in our own money as always, we’re just asking for your help to get our feet off the ground.
